Bourque Logistics Provides Maintenance Services for More Than 50,000 Railcars

Bourque Logistics provides the maintenance expertise to keep your fleet safely moving.

The Woodlands, Texas – February 19, 2016. Bourque Logistics (BL), the leader in logistics software and services for industrial shippers, now manages maintenance for more than10 customers totaling over50,000 railcars. Building on the strength of itsindustry-leading software, in 2006 BL introduced a full-service railcar repair and maintenance program. Utilizing RAILTRAC®and RAILAcct®, the BL team ensures railcar owners and lessees’ maintenance programs are managed properly, cost-effective, and conform to federal regulations and maintenance program development standards.Additionally, burdensome accounting tasks, such as repairandlease invoice reconciliation, auditing, and coding are effortlessly performed by BL’sskilled maintenance professionals.

The BL staff performs general administrative tasks to closely monitor and track customer railcar repair and maintenance activities. This includes billing railcars to repair shops, evaluating and approving shop repair estimates, validating repair invoices against estimates, and ensuring repairs are performed properly and in a timely fashion. On average, the staff reviews over 1,000 repair estimates monthly and rejects up to 5% due to inconsistencies. Shippers benefit directly by saving money as a result of incorrect estimates being flagged. Additionally, the BL maintenance group will also assist with negotiating private shop rates ensuring its customers receive competitive shop rates. Furthermore, updates of UMLER, OT-5 filings, OTMA management, and mobile repairs are managed by the BL staff.

Mileage maintenance has recently been added to ensure shippers have a means in which to audit against lease mileage caps and empty mileage. Bi-annually, maintenance personnel will work with customers to analyze maintenance costs and assist clients with preparation of their annual rail fleet maintenance budget. Monthly and quarterly reporting is provided to ensure customers are kept informed. Most importantly, in a changing regulatory environment, the BL staff ensures customers’ railcar fleets remain compliant, reducing the likelihood of costly fines and providing the peace of mind shippers deserve.

Managing over 50,000 railcars gives Bourque Logistics significant leverage with repair shops, a benefit enjoyed by all of our customers…Additionally, since we are not a railcar or shop owner there is no bias when shopping cars. This allows the maintenance staff the flexibility to select shops that align with customers’ maintenance objectives.
